ArcadeStriker's Game Zones

Because I still don't feel like calling them shrines or anything on that line.

These should be dedicated pages that have enough substantial information [or yapping] for me to give them a dedicated page for you to check if you wish to indulge on curiosity for whatever I found for these games.

Virtual-On MARZ

BONUS: To Aru Majutsu no Virtual-On

Currently don't have enough info for this one to give it a dedicated page, as only recently I happened to try it with Vita3K for the first time ever. So far it's been kind of interesting even if I have zero attachmend to the Index franchise which this game is attached to.

Some interesting points that I could bring up though are:

  • There's an English translation of the Vita version released around three weeks ago [as of writing this], which is how I got to try it while knowing what the menus do. You can get the XDelta Patches for it here [along with a Trailer video in the page linked], which is meant to work with Vita3K but reportedly can also work with real PS Vita hardware since its a patch for the game files rather than an emulator-only texture replacement pack.
  • The game has two control schemes, but neither are the classic Twin Stick setup from the arcade. Both use a single turbo button, two weapon buttons, a dedicated melee button (using your weapons in proximity no longer auto-activates melee, so you need to use this button), a jump button that can be pressed again to fastfall, and a dedicated lock-on button to retarget.
  • Veteran control scheme requires manual retargetting and lets you move the camera with the right stick, whiel Smart control scheme actually has an auto targetting camera like an arena fighter.
  • Both versions have DLCs to use the DNA/RNA color schemes from Oratorio Tangram, as every Virtuaroid in this game is based off the Oratorio Tangram models (except for the custom Bal-RiiON, but the original Bal-Bados is also present).
  • Since I don't have anywhere else to mention this, it seems that Lilina's design was retooled to be an illustration for Lilin Plajner, who appears in lore from supplementary material (I assume) and most notably as the second Operator voice in MARZ's endgame, although there was no visual depiction of her back then. It becomes obvious when you compare her new illustration in Virtual-On Masterpiece's website and Lilina in the To Aru game (scroll down to the gallery), basically identical hairstyle and appearance with changed outfits and color schemes. Whether the story actually mentions Lilina (and another very similar character named Lilin) being related to Lilin Plajner sometime later is yet unknown to me (as I haven't played through the story yet), but it's slightly interesting that there was a new character in this crossover game that was inspired by a Virtual-On lore character happens and even ended up with her design modified to be that lore character's official illustration one year after To Aru Majutsu no Virtual-On released.
