-RING RACERS TIME ATTACK-

Hang up your sneakers. Okay, I'll go on to actually explain.

This would have been a full page to store all of my RR-related times, but since there's two websites where I also take the chance to submit my times to, I'll link those below for vanilla times. But I might add direct links to my own times for custom tracks, as those aren't accounted in those websites.

Regarding whether I'd put my own times for Super Striker GP maps [if you don't know, I'm the author of that], I think I might also relegate that to its own page- one that should be intended for all players to submit their times to.

SPB Attack with Vectorman - Records and Ranking [v2.3]

A list of all my SPB runs in video format [if available] and my personal difficulty for each one with Vectorman in mind.

I'd rate these in the following format:

  • Rank D - I don't think there will be any Rank D's in here...
  • Rank C - Moderate skills needed. Track might be wide enough to allow you to drift/sliptide as needed so all you need is to drive well without bonking walls.
  • Rank B - Intermediate knowledge required. Possible to complete Ringless as drifting in all the right lines gives you sparks to survive.
  • Rank A - Expert knowledge required. Triangle dash, sliptiding, nulldrifting and brakedrifting- everything a Class I character needs to survive in a SPB situation in a tight track.
  • Rank S - Prepare for hell. A challenge as tough as Rank A tier...but you'll be also at mercy of cycling hazards that insta-kill your run if you bump them in the wrong moment.
  • Robotnik Coaster - Easy/Medium [Ringless DONE] - First half due to the width of the drivable road is tighter than other easy tracks, but if you get that down, its no big deal. Northern District - Easy - Pretty easy. Not hilariously trivial like a certain other map, but it is pretty easy. Sonic Speedway RINGLESS DONE - Intermediate - There's no fancy triangle dash or super sharp turns, but the road width and timing for some of the sharp turns you have to do require you to be familiar with Brakedrifting/Null Drifting to course correct at a critical moment, as well as having the driftspark timing down well enough. Lucid Pass RINGLESS DONE - Advanced - This one gets the pass into the pack of triangle-dash-needed-for-ringless maps by virtue of consistently thin roads and several back to back curves where you'd be better ready to brakedrift or die to. Autumn Hill RL DONE - Intermediate - I don't usually take count of my amount of retries, but in this specific track I want to mention I got this on my FIRST ATTEMPT. I still won't toot my horn too much though by calling this Easy, because to be fair, there's a handful of turns that if you don't have the drift timing down to buffer one from a straight into the turn so that you can get ANOTHER drift fast enough [Namely, triangle dashing off the big jump that usually goes into the rings, which still should be possible to do, but if you are willing to save that time lol- and the end where it can be safer to charge a drift from earlier into the uphill so that you survive the slalom easier]. A lot of words, but basically, unless you are already hardened with the drift stuff, this might be a tougher one than the rest. Rumble Ridge RL DONE - Easy with A CATCH - The one part that can be a beginner trap is to not know to drift into the left lane so that you can have a bit of extra speed from its conveyer and a wider area to drift into the conveyer belt instead of running into the uphill. Other than that, easy. Gust Planet - Easy [Ringless DONE] - Big road, big sneaker panels to sliptide, easy task. Panic City - [Ringless DONE] - Surprisingly lenient in some places where you could cut through offroad if you want to do it ringless, but in any case aas long as you know how to sliptide the final turn and take the right lines, it should be easy piece of cake. Storm Rig RINGLESS DONE - LMAOOOOOOOO - Aside from two specific turns where you'd have to brakedrift/nulldrift just a bit [or gamble with wall bumps] and that specifically as Vectorman/Class I, the track is VERY easy to do. For those uphill turns, just charging one driftspark up into the nearest center booster- as the track is littered with those, is all what it takes to lose any concern for whether you'll have to fight with physics. Joypolis - Easy/Normal [Ringless DONE] Advent Angel - Easy [Ringless DONE - No Replay] - When you get down the right lines and drift timing, it is very easy to, at minimum, go through the whole track with a fair lead thanks to the trick panels granting an extra boost, rings and voltage. I can confidently call this one easy because even when I did a Ringless run where I avoided almost all trick panels, it still was easy to keep a lead thanks to the track's amount of turns to drift through. Pestilence Zone - Easy WITH A CATCH - A lot of turns give enough chance to do this ringless easily...except for the last turn underwater- You HAVE to land on the second booster panel with the fastfall bounce to get enough speed to run into the turn, brakedrift and get out of it, since if you don't get the sneaker boost, you'll die trying to drift into the floor to the SPB behind you due to how the turn is right in front of you. Otherwise, easy peasy Crimson Core - LMAOOOOO [Very Easy?] - If you have played SRB2Kart in your life, perhaps time attacked it a lot, then this is basically a guaranteed win in Ringless, let alone with Rings [which might be harder if you are aiming for a high time instead of a simple completion]. Since this game's pace is slowed down when playing without rings, the track feels pretty trivial to drift through as Vectorman as if you were playing Kart. Las Vegas - Normal due to a CATCH - For ringless, there are exactly two areas with dash pads where, unless you have a triangle dash/drift spark ready, you will die when you get there. The trick is to have the spark, fastfall and then release after you've bounced once, as you need that extra oomph of speed if you want to make it through the turn. Otherwise it is fairly easy as long as you remember what direction is each turn. Mega Flying Battery - Normal/Hard Monkey Mall - Normal/Hard - Did this a fair while ago, but your drifts gotta be on point or else you're dead. Track might not be perilous aside from that one big slope but you don't want to slip at any point. City Escape - Hard - You have to ring boost through crates to avoid death, and a few sections will be really tight as those are the ones where the SPB will NOT be slacking. Sky Babylon - Hard - Do not be fooled, miss a drift spark in any important turn and you're done for. Can be bad enough if playing with rings as you'd have to prepare in advance with the ring usage for it to not be too late before the SPB catches you in a recoverable mistake, but if playing Ringless, there's no room for mistakes that make you lose a second of speed.
