So...you want to read me yapping about why I even started making this website in the first place? Then sit down on the best chair you have [even if it is a plastic chair- I'm writing this from one right now], because I have quite a few things to mention in that regard.
Back in November 22, 2023 [according to Neocities] because I had watched this video titled The Web has lost its Soul - LOVEWEB which was just a month old video at that point and got me decided to try actually using Neocities for once - a comment I left on the video back in 2023 [when I started it] saying: "Watching this video got me to actually go and start setting up something with neocities; even with the simplicity it has been fun to mess around with the template so far and also see that it is much faster to update changes on the site on the fly than with Github Pages...thanks"
Since I was already trying Github Pages for an university assignment by that point, I also ended up trying to setup a personal website with it...until I realized that updating stuff at GH Pages took some minutes - then found out that Neocities let me do changes way quicker the day I tested it, which is why I ended up sticking with it. But that's not the end of the story.
I've always wanted to have a website of my own that wasn't bound by Wix [which I had used before but never finished reworking anything from the old site] or Wordpress [you can find the blogposts I wrote on that site on the Blog Area- but long story short, it spawned from a video channel idea that never materialized] for higher flexibility and a cleaner presentation to showcase stuff outside of my Youtube channels. And...THAT should be the end of the story.
...But if you want to read an additional piece of backstory that's relevant to this website's origin, keep going.
I actually think that the first time I wanted to get down with a fully custom website instead of trying to fiddle with Wix or whatever was because I once was shown by this person a little personal website of his hosted in Github Pages with a scrolling MMZ background and a chatbox- I did try checking back on it but it seems to be gone alongside his account, but at least a screenshot remains for you to know how it looked and why it could have inspired me to try Github Pages myself - and eventually holding on to the website project by switching to Neocities.

As everything seems to imply, I met this guy when I found out about Megaman Zero Online and played it a fair bit with him alongside others while that was active until the decline came from how the back then current version made in Clickteam Fusion had to be shafted due to server issues (technically still playable with Hamachi or Radmin, but the download has been removed from the site since), and since then there hasn't been a new version to revive the MMZO playerbase yet. But hey, those were fun times, fun enough to have me do not ONE, but TWO VIDEOS about it, so of course I would want to give him a little spot here.
Also there's a bit of a sad note with how gso, the composer of the remix in the second video, had seemingly vanished from Youtube and Soundcloud- thankfully there being a reminder of their work with some BIG SHOT remixes reuploaded in Soundcloud, including that one I used. But unfortunately their little comment about the song being used in the video is gone with their account.
Aaaaaaaand...yeah that's actually it for now. Maybe one day I'll make a museum type subpage where you can explore the first layout that this website used, but for now I'd rather focus on making the new stuff be cleanly done.
