SEGA PC STUFF
If you know me before Kart/Ring Racers, it's probably because of this
A small list of stuff that I've tried out from SEGA PC games - probably could have a few writeups here but at the moment I'll list videos of stuff related to that, since most of those are hilariously specific...so it makes sense that I could list them over here. If RetroBox rings a bell, you may have seen me from the time where I used to repack some of those old games with _inmm - although back then the execution was a bit hasty but still remember hearing many being grateful for those.
Whether I would revisit that concept or not, who knows - but it wouldn't be here on Neocities for sure [due to copyright reasons]. But...what I can have here are videos of SEGA PC related stuff.
Virtual-On PC - Play as Jaguarandi: A video I ominously titled jaguarandi.mp4 that does something simple in concept: Showing Jaguarandi as a playable character in the PC port of Virtual-On against the CPU Jaguarandi. The thing is...Jaguarandi is NOT unlockable in this version - I did that through Cheat Engine to force Jaguarandi as my machine while also warping to Jag's stage. The thing is a bona-fide monster as it was never toned down if played by an human since it wasn't intended to be [unlike the Saturn/PS2 versions which I THINK adjusted it?]. Oh, and the game crashes if Jag is set as your Virtuaroid in the ranking screen when it tries to preview it unless you skip it.
As it turns out, I actually had wrote a whole guide on doing this yourself - which I also would recommend reading if you find Jaguarandi on PC interesting, since I also covered the side effects more in-depth along with playing as Z-Gradt AND using glitched colors [likely textures from other mechs?] for your Virtuaroid.
SEGA RALLY 2 PC - Online Multiplayer Test Footage: An old recording I did between my brother's PC and my old laptop, which as a result the framerate stinks from recording in my laptop BUT showed the online feature of the PC port of SR2 working - and I even had my brother driving in the other PC to at least have something more than just the other car sitting still while I drive alone.
Virtual-ON PC - Online Multiplayer Test: An old recording I did between my brother's PC and my old laptop - better framerate than the SR2 recording but I was playing alone...so you basically see either me or the other Virtuaroid move on the same screen. But it was interesting for me to record back then because I thought no one had recorded a PVP VS match from the PC port before.
Virtual-ON PC - Temjin Playthrough + 60FPS Patch: To this day, my most watched video on my channel - ancient but in 720p60fps quality, and also one of my earliest showcases of something cool for a SEGA PC Port: Playing with a patch that allowed me to set the framerate to a whopping 60FPS, which was not normally possible in VON PC since the highest the game would let you set it is 30fps [perhaps due to PC limitations at the time]...but it was surreal to see that it could be smooth as butter now through the patch and a modern PC.
