DYNAMITE WILDERNESS - DEVELOPMENT

I'll have to admit that I, unfortunately, don't have much surviving material or memory of when the original Kart version was being made...but I have a video from when it was WIP with placeholder color textures from August 2021 - complete with Ollie King music because I didn't have the theming and music locked down yet. But it can be noticed that even in that primitive visual state, the trademark layout of this one track was basically already in place at that point, only awaiting for its eventual redecoration through using a Cadillacs and Dinosaurs (arcade) song that itself likely influenced the canyon theming for what arrived in the final track.



Regarding the Ring Racers port, it was something I started to figure out porting Kart tracks to RR, with how I had to update textures, convert the track to UDMF format and then add all the items for Ring Racers - plus updating a few sectors and additional things to fit. The original standalone release was smaller and also had a weird thing with the bots being WAY faster than intended - but the track would be scaled up [and apparently, that would also help nerf the bots after several waypoint redos] and would stay with that new scale thought to fit better with RR's more frequent high speeds in the first release of Super Striker GP.


It doesn't look too different as the new skybox and ported texture work was already done, but if you are curious to see how the map looked with the slightly smaller scale it had at first, here's a video I had recorded from when it still was on the way to being released as a standalone track.
