BUT ENOUGH TALK, HAVE AT YOU.
If you're here from the start, then yeah, here's the whole alley-oop on why I made this website.
Aside from the attempt I made with Github Pages, I've always wanted to have a website of my own that wasn't bound by Wix [which I had used before but never finished reworking anything from the old site satisfyingly enough] or Wordpress [powering my other website project from years ago, the much more ambitious blog Arcadex Machina which spawned from a video channel idea that never materialized] - both for a slightly higher amount of customization and perhaps the challenge, to store everything I've made instead of relying on social media which can be very sporadic.
At best, my main Youtube channel is a dumpster of many unorganized cool things I've made and games I've played if you scroll beyond 2023, and at worst, trying to keep a good grip on the stuff I do while throwing it over the-site-formerly-known-as-Twitter and sometimes getting influenced by expected or unexpected results ain't great for creativity flow.
With how many things I would like to talk about at random times but to be organized in a tidy way, as well as getting to put all the stuff I've done in good order for both future reference of mine and for any curious onlookers to see ALL of the stuff I've come up with, having a website for myself is a no-brainer for such desire.
To expand on the ArcadeStriker's RingNET neocities website stage of history backstory, there's actually something that roaming through an older version of this website [different them and some content done] actually reminded me of.
I actually think that the first time I wanted to get down with a fully custom website instead of trying to fiddle with Wix or whatever was because I once was shown by this person a little personal website of his hosted in Github Pages with a scrolling MMZ background and a chatbox- I did try checking back on it but it seems to be gone alongside his account, but at least a screenshot remains for you to know how it looked and why it could have inspired me to try Github Pages myself - and eventually holding on to the website project by switching to Neocities.
As everything seems to imply, I met this guy when I found out about Megaman Zero Online and played it a fair bit with him alongside others while that was active until the decline came from how the back then current version made in Clickteam Fusion had to be shafted due to server issues (technically still playable with Hamachi or Radmin, but the download has been removed from the site since), and since then there hasn't been a new version to revive the MMZO playerbase yet. But hey, those were fun times, fun enough to have me do not ONE, but TWO VIDEOS about it, so of course I would want to give him a little spot here.
Also there's a bit of a sad note with how gso, the composer of the remix in the second video, has seemingly vanished from Youtube and Soundcloud- thankfully there being a reminder of their work with some BIG SHOT remixes reuploaded in Soundcloud, including that one I used. But unfortunately their little comment about the song being used in the video is gone with their account.
